The Headhunter and UN Women have rewarded companies for inclusion and equality in employment

The ceremony for the award of equal employment LGBTIQ index, organized by The Headhunter and UN Women, held last night in Sarajevo. Drogerie DM- markt and the British Council won the Gold Award, Center for Investigative Journalism won the Silver Award and Bronze Award was given to Klix.ba .

The ceremony was attended by representatives from domestic and foreign organizations, private companies, and representatives of the international community. The awards were given by David Saunders , a representative of UN Women in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the British ambassador Edwards Ferguson , Ambassador of Germany Christian Hohmann and CEO of The Headhunter Group, Elton Ilirjan .

"The index is prepared by the private sector to the private sector. It assesses the extent to which companies and institutions dealing with discrimination and promote equality in the workplace. As the index for equality in the workplace, it is natural for UN Women to cooperate with companies HR and recruitment to support the establishment of the index. "- said the representative of UN Women in Bosnia and Herzegovina, David Saunders.

Saunders added: "I have no doubt that next year will see new companies will join the index, and most importantly, I believe that we will see improved steps by companies to promote true equality and protect the rights and dignity of LGBTIQ employees and candidates. "

"Although Headhuter Group has successfully implemented the index a few years in the region, this is the first year we do this in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We are very satisfied with the support of partners from the international community recognized the importance of this topic, as well as domestic and foreign companies that have agreed to participate this year. It means a lot when the UN, the EU Delegation and the German, British, Japanese and representatives of other embassies do not support publicly. Our goal is to double our number of companies participating next year and see the positive developments in the internal practices of companies that will work next year, "said CEO Headhunter Group, Elton Ilirjan.

Index LGBTIQ equality in employment is a project of The Headhunter Group, implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the office of UN Woman. The purpose of the implementation of the Index is to raise awareness about discrimination in the workplace on LGBTIQ population and to increase equality, diversity and other good practices in terms of candidates and employees.
